About me

Sasha Alcoloumbre

I’m an Essentrics® Master Trainer & Balanced Body® Certified Pilates Instructor, with 12+ years of experience teaching all levels, from general fitness to Olympic athletes. A former national-level figure skater and medallist. A ballet and dance aficionado. An artist. An ambassador for embodied & creative living.

Embodiment is at the heart of everything I do in life - the relationship to my body I established early on as an athlete is one I continue to cultivate every day. Beyond helping my clients reach their individual strength, flexibility, mobility, or pain-relief goals, I seek to help them find this very connection within themselves and give them the tools to sustain it.

I infuse each class with my passion and joy for movement, along with the interdisciplinary knowledge and movement intelligence I’ve amassed over the years.

More Specifically

In 2010, I began working with Miranda Esmonde-White, the creator of Essentrics, as a complement to my training as a figure skater, and noticed significant improvements in agility, strength, and mobility, while also decreasing injuries.

This galvanized me to pursue the Essentrics teacher training with Miranda as my mentor and spread the healing power of embodied movement. I’ve since taught at Essentrics teacher training events, retreats, and countless classes across Montreal. I enjoy teaching all levels of fitness and ages, from high-performance athletes to general fitness.

After many years of personal practice, I have more recently expanded my movement practice to Reformer Pilates, completing the Balanced Body® Mat & Reformer teacher training. It’s allowed me to help my students tap into their bodies’ true potential for strength in ways I couldn’t have imagined prior.
